3/21/2008: New Features of BOL Personal Webspace

Communications Technology Services and Bruin OnLine are proud to announce increased Webspace storage quota, PHP support, and password protection of online Web folders for personal Webspaces available to all users with active UCLA Logon IDs. These features will be available to everyone at the start of Spring Quarter 2008 (March 31, 2008).

100MB Webspace Storage Quota:

The Webspace storage quota will be increased from 50MB to 100MB, doubling the storage capacity for your data and Web pages.

PHP Support:

PHP (PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor) is a computer scripting language originally designed for producing dynamic Web pages. For example, you can now create a photo gallery without having to develop the interface and each page individually. For more information on PHP and it's capabilities, please visit http://www.php.net.

Password Protection of online Web folders:

Password protection allows the page owners to create usernames and passwords for clients to access specific folders in their personal Webspace. For more information, please visit http://www.bol.ucla.edu/services/web/protection.html.

For help with the features above, please visit the Bruin OnLine FAQ http://www.bol.ucla.edu/help/faq/ page or HOWTO http://www.bol.ucla.edu/help/howto/, contact the Help Desk at (310) 267-HELP (4357), email consult@ucla.edu, or stop by the office at 124 Kerckhoff Hall.
