My
research has focuseed on issues of identity in the Arab world
and among Arab-Americans. I have conducted research trips to:
Egypt, India, Lebanon, Morocco, Syria, and Yemen. I have also
traveled to Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
My
future plans are to focus on the Arabian Gulf and I plan to
travel to Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and U.A.E.. I am interested
in the intricate cultural connections of the Indian Ocean, especially
regarding the Arab world.
I
have a fundamental belief in the transformative power of music
and its ability to shape our identities and help us to imagine
new futures.
