         Hector Lemus Sr.

Hector's soccer experience spans over 25 years.  By 18, playing professionally in the Mexican league's First Division, he had played in over 30 International matches.  Selected first  team All-CIF, 3 years consecutively in High School, he went on to earn MVP honors at United States International University, San Diego, as well.

Hector coached his former High School for two years, moving up to the Semi-Pro level in the Los Angeles California Soccer League, where he consistently  finished in the top three spots.  He began coaching his son's team in 1980. And, since 1992 he began coaching his daughter's team.

In 1996 he and with his son as assistant coach, took a Girls U-16 to Europe, taking third place in the prestigious Dana Cup in Denmark, and the Coca-Cola Cup in Amsterdam.

A state licensed coach, Hector Sr.'s philosophy is to teach game intelligence, maintain a high degree of conditioning, pursue technical excellence, and play with imagination, vision and intensity.

Hector Jr.'s soccer experience began at age 8. After joining the Whittier Soccer Club as a starting defender, he was chosen on the All-District Team on the U-14 squad, where because of his speed and skill he became a forward. He then played soccer for St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower for his first two years.

Hector was recruited and ran Cross Country, because of his running ability, where he earned MVP, honors, and made First-Team Div. II All-CIF in his final two years. After graduating, he elected to pursue an academic career. While in college, he played two years for the Blast Soccer Club, in San Bernardino. Graduating with Honors in Mathematics from Cal Poly Pomona, he went on to receive his Master's Degree in Applied Mathematics at Cal State Long Beach. He is currently an instructor at Cal State Long Beach and is pursuing his Ph.D. at UCLA.

Hector began coaching, with his father, for his sister's club team. Where currently he is the trainer, tactical advisor, and nutritional expert.

Also, as a state licensed coach, Hector Jr.'s philosophy is to teach mental toughness, discipline, and the pursuit of excellence through higher education.
