  2. Installation will begin.

  3. Click Next.

  4. Read the license agreement and click Yes.

  5. Choose the install directory and click Next

  6. Select Typical and click Next.

  7. NOTE: Some users may be prompted to install Google Toolbar. This installation is not mandatory for running CuteFTP. Once you have chosen whether or not you want to install Google Toolbar, click Next.

Configuring Cute-FTP

These instructions will guide you through connecting to an FTP site using the Bruin OnLine Web Server site as an example.

  1. Launch CuteFTP and click on the Site Manager icon in the upper left corner of the CuteFTP tool bar (it looks like an open book).

  2. In the Site Manager window, click New and choose FTP Site from the dropdown menu.

  3. Fill in a label for the site (Bruin OnLine Webspace in the example), the host address (webspace.bol.ucla.edu), your UCLA Logon ID,
and password and then click the Type tab.

  4. Select FTP with TLS/SSL (AUTH TLS - Explicit) from the Protocol type dropdown menu. Make sure to also change Data Connection Type to Use PASV.

  5. Click Connect and accept the certificate.

  6. You are now connected to the FTP site. The left pane of the window represents your local computer, the right pane
represents the remote computer. The bottom pane shows the status of current transfers.

You may transfer file(s) to and from the remote computer (if permissions allow) by selecting file(s) and dragging and
dropping them between the left and right panes.
