Spy Sweeper
Spyware and adware describe applications that may track your online activities for malicious purposes or for tailoring and targeting pop-up ads to your computer. Spy Sweeper detects and removes spyware, adware, and other "malware" from your computer and protects your PC from future installations of unwanted programs.
Your computer may be infected with spyware if you notice any of the following symptoms:
- sluggish performance
- An increase in pop-up ads
- mysterious toolbars in your browser
- changes to your home page settings
- strange search engine results
UCLA has negotiated an agreement with Webroot to license Spy Sweeper for current UCLA staff, students, and faculty to use for University purposes. The license agreement is valid through September 2008 and provides the right to install the software on:
- UCLA owned or leased computer systems
- personally owned computers of current UCLA students, staff and faculty
