Installing Sophos Anti-Virus for Macintosh OS 10.2+
Before you begin, please make sure that you have already uninstalled any previous anti-virus program (Norton Anti-Virus, McAfee Virus Scan, etc.) from your computer.
- Please ensure that you have downloaded the SophosAntiVirus.dmg installation file to your desktop.
- Double-click on the SophosAntiVirus.dmg to start unpackaging the Sophos software.
- Click on the disk image SophosAntiVirus
Installer and then double click on the Sophos
Anti-Virus.mpkg to start the installation process.

- In the Sophos Anti-Virus Installer dialog box, click on the button Continue. Read the Important Information and then click on the button Continue.
- In the Select a Destination dialog
box, click on the hard drive you want to install to and
the button Continue.

- In the Easy Install on ... dialog
box, click on the the button Install.

- If the Authenticationdialog box comes up, use your
Macintosh System's username and password.
Authentication
- In the dialog
box that says Installing this software requires you to
restart your computer when the installation is done. click on the the button
Continue Installation.
Restart
- Part of the installation process is Optimizing. Please be patient as this
will take a few minutes.
Optimization
- Click on the Restart button when the Sophos
installation has completed.
Installation Complete
- After you have sucessfully installed Sophos Anti-Virus, please
follow the updating instructions at the following URL to ensure optimal
performance:
