Configuring Eudora 6.1.1

The first time you run Eudora, a window should pop up asking if you would like to import settings from another application. Click on No and the following window will appear. If it does not, go to the Special menu and choose Settings.

  1. Select the Getting Started category from the left side.
    Type in your UCLA Logon ID (first part of your BOL email address) in the Username box.
    Enter mail.ucla.edu in the Mail Server box.
    Type in your full name in the Real Name box.
    Enter mail.ucla.edu in the SMTP Server box.
    Type in your BOL email address in the Return Address box.

  2. Select the Sending Mail category from the left side.
    Please make sure that you have a check mark next to Allow Authorization.

  3. Click OK. You have successfully configured Eudora 6.1.1. You may start using Eudora.

SSL Configuration

  1. Click on the SSL icon in the left hand column in the Settings window. You may have to scroll down the list of icons.
  2. Select Required (TLS) for SSL for POP, SSL for SMTP , and SSL for IMAP. You should be using TLS 1.0.
