Web Directory Protection
What is web directory protection?
Web directory protection allows you to protect some or all of the directories on your webspace hosted by Bruin OnLine using usernames and passwords of your choice.
Restrictions are established through three files:
- .htaccess: dictates the access restrictions for the directory it is placed into
- htusers: contains usernames and respective passwords
- htgroup: optional file, defines groups of members (to allow some but not all usernames to access a particular directory)
