Configuring VPN for Palm OS 5.2.1

These instructions assume that you have a wi-fi network card installed/configured to connect to UCLAWLAN

  1. Before beginning the installation, please change your password on our website at:

    You will need to change the password to something different from what you have currently.

  2. Click on VPN Setup to begin the Mergic VPN setup.
  3. Under account name, type UCLA VPN.
  4. Under username, type in your UCLA Logon ID.
  5. Under password, you can either leave it as is on the prompt (where you will be prompted for your UCLA Logon ID password when connecting) or type your UCLA Logon ID password which will then be saved.
  6. Under vpn server address, type in pptp.vpn.ucla.edu
  7. Click on details, and uncheck query dns.
  8. Type in 164.67.128.1 and 164.67.128.2 for the primary and secondary DNS Servers.
  9. Click Ok, and then click Done.
  10. Under vpn preferences, make sure vpn is enabled, and make sure UCLA VPN is the account that is active, and click done.
  11. Whenever you use an application that requires a network connection you will connect to the vpn and be prompted for your password or automatically connected (if you have saved your password).
