Configuring Internet Explorer 7 for the BOL Proxy Server
The following instructions will configure Internet Explorer 7 for the UCLA proxy server. This will allow you to access UCLA restricted sites and the UCLA news server while connecting through another ISP. Please note that these instructions are only for Internet Explorer 7. Internet Explorer 6 users should go here.
- Open Internet Explorer 7 and click on Tools
- Double click on Internet Options.

- Click on the Connections tab.

- Click on the LAN Settings button on the bottom-right corner of the window.

- Check Use automatic configuration script. In the
Address field, type in
http://proxy.ucla.edu/cgi/proxy and
click OK.

When you access a UCLA restricted site, a secure page will ask you to enter your UCLA Logon ID and password before proceeding to the site.
If you are unable to see the secure page, you may need to clear your browser cache. You can clear your browser cache in Internet Explorer 7 by:
- Open Internet Explorer 7 and click on the Tools as before.
- Click on the Delete button.

- Click the Delete files button near the top of the window and then click Close when the process is completed.

When you access a UCLA restricted site, a secure page will ask you to enter your UCLA Logon ID and password before proceeding to the site.
