Configuring Netscape Mail to view newsgroup postings

1. Please open Netscape Mail, and go to Edit >> Mail and Newsgroups Accounts Setting.
2. Please click on the Add Account button. Select Newsgroup account and click Next.

3. Type in your Full Name in the Display Name field. Type in your Email Address in the Email Address field and then click on Next.

4. Type in news.ucla.edu in the Newsgroup Server field and then click on Next.

5. Type in news.ucla.edu in the Account name field and then click on Next.

   

   Account name

6. You have now finished setting up Netscape Mail for newsgroups. Click on Finish.

Using Netscape Mail to read newsgroup postings

To start downloading newsgroup postings, you will first need to subscribe to the newsgroups you want to download.

1. Please open Netscape Mail, and click on the news.ucla.edu icon. Please click on the Subscribe to newsgroups link to view the list of available newsgroups.
2. You will see a list of available newsgroups. Please subscribe to the ones you wish to download, and click OK .
3. Click on the newsgroup name to download the messages into your Netscape Mail.
