Setting up a filter using the Spam Identification Service
- Login to BOL Webmail at https://mail.ucla.edu/
- Click on the + icon just to the left of the Mail icon in the menu bar on the left.
- Click on the Filters link in the menu bar on the left.
- Click on the Spam icon at the top of the page.
- Select a minimum spam score to filter (we recommend you start off with a setting of 5) and a mailbox to filter the messages into. If you do not see a Spam folder in the drop-down menu you will need to manually create it. - Click on the Save Changes link.
- Click on the Enable link.

Setting up a filter to forward non-spam messages to an alternative account
If you have set up spam filters and want to forward non-spam messages, you will need to manually configure a new mail rule as described below.
- Login to the BOL Webmail at https://mail.ucla.edu/ .
- Click on the + icon just to the left of the Mail icon in the menu bar on the left.
- Click on the Filters link in the menu bar on the left.
- Click on the New Rule icon at the top of the page.
- In the If mail header field, type X-Probable-Spam.
- In the contains: field, type no.
- Click on the Save Changes link.
