SSL Configuration - Outlook Express
NOTE: The instructions below apply identically for both IMAP and POP settings.
- In the Outlook Express, click on Tools then Accounts.

- Select the account name that corresponds to your BOL account and click Properties.
- Click the Servers tab and take note of the information filled out in the Outgoing mail (SMTP) field. Yours may differ from what appears in the screenshot below.

- Click on the Advanced tab. Under the Incoming mail field, check the box that says This server requires a secure connection (SSL). If you are using IMAP, your numbers may differ from the ones in the screenshot below.
- If your outgoing mail server is mail.ucla.edu, check the box that says This server requires a secure connection (SSL) under the Outgoing mail (SMTP) field.



NOTE: If the Outgoing mail server information you took note of in the Servers tab is something other than mail.ucla.edu, you are FINISHED.
