SSL Configuration - Eudora (Mac OS 9) - STEP 1

NOTE: The instructions below apply identically for both IMAP and POP settings. The only difference in settings is based on version and will be detailed below.

NOTE: The screenshots shown are for version 6.1. However, these settings have been tested and verified on version 5.2.1 as well.

NOTE: Mac OS 9 is a the minimum required operating system version. Bruin OnLine recommends that users with earlier operating system versions use webmail at https://mail.ucla.edu.

  1. In the Eudora application, click on Special then click on Settings.
  2. Select Getting Started from the icons in the left hand column of the settings window.

    Please note the values of the following fields:

    • Mail Server:
    • SMTP Server:

    Please write these values down on a piece of paper as you will need to reference them shortly.

    • OPTION 1: If Mail Server: mail.ucla.edu and SMTP Server: blank, click here.
    • OPTION 2: If Mail Server: mail.ucla.edu and SMTP Server: mail.ucla.edu, click here.
    • OPTION 3: If Mail Server: mail.ucla.edu and SMTP Server: some other value, click here.
