BOL Webmail Folder Backup

This document will show you how to download your webmail folders for use in other mail programs. Please note that webmail exports all mailboxes into the .MBOX format. Before you proceed, we recommend that you view the following knowledge base article from the Mozilla project to determine if your e-mail client will import .MBOX files:

Most standards compliant email applications should read the .MBOX format. If your mail client is not listed, please check with your application vendor for further details.

  1. Click on the Folders icon in the action bar

  2. Check the box next to the folder that you'd like to download

  3. Choose Download Folder(s) from the Choose Action dropdown menu

  4. Click OK and save the file to your local computer. The file is in .mbox format, which is supported by many standards-compliant email programs.

  5. Use your email client's Import mail feature and select the .mbox file you just exported from webmail.
