Configuring Mac OS X to Dial-into Bruin OnLine

Follow the instructions below to configure Mac OS X to dial-into Bruin OnLine.

  1. From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.

  2. Click the Network icon.

  3. Click the arrow box on the Show pop-up list and choose Internal Modem.
  4. Click on the TCP/IP tab.
  5. Click the arrow box on the Configure pop-up list and choose Using PPP.
  6. In the Domain Name Servers box, type '164.67.128.1', '164.67.128.2' and '164.67.128.3' for the DNS server addresses.
  7. In the Search Domains box, type 'ucla.edu' as the search domain.

  8. Click on the PPP tab.
  9. In the Telephone Number field, type '1-310-206-8311'.
  10. In the Account Name field, type your UCLA Logon ID(the first part of your ucla email address; ex.if your email address is 'jbruin@ucla.edu', your UCLA Logon ID is 'jbruin'.
  11. In the Password field, type your password. (optional)
  12. Check the box next to Save password. (optional)
  13. Click the Apply Now button.

  14. Close the Network window.

You have successfully configured your Mac for dial-up access. To connect to BOL, click on the phone icon in the top right-hand corner of your screen and select Connect from the menu.
