11/06/98: ORION Outage 11/13 to 11/15

ORION, will be down beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday, November 13, as part of a maintenance and consolidation project for Administrative Information Systems computing hardware. ORION is expected to return to operation by 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 15. While ORION is down, users can access information on Library holdings through the MELVYL system, which is available through the Library's Web site at http://www.library.ucla.edu/. MELVYL records do not contain the circulation status of items, so users will need to check the stacks in the library units to see whether items are available. Library users may check out materials but self-service options such as placing holds and recalls, paging items from the Southern Regional Library Facility, and submitting ORION Express requests will not be available.
