06/24/98: News Server Access (update)

Access to the campus news server has been restored. Please be patient while any bugs with the new hardware and any undiscovered performance issues are worked out.

If your news client is unable to find any new articles when contacting the server, try unsubscribing from the group that you are interested in and then re-subscribing. The news software was installed on a new machine which reset the article numbers. Because of this, your news software may think that any newly appearing articles have already been read.

Note: if you are using Netscape to browse the newsgroups, you may need to unsubscribe from all newsgroups, remove the server, and then re-add the server and re-subscribe to the newsgroups in question.
