01/22/98: BOL Leased Access Modem Lines Down

Hello,

The new Bruin OnLine leased access modem lines are currently non-operational. The lines went down Thursday evening (1/21). The symptoms are as follows. The lines accept modem connections and continue through the handshake phase. They will accept a Username and a Password, but do not finish the authentication process. This may cause a number of different error messages.

Notification will be posted when the problem has been corrected.
