01/06/98: Ben2 System Down Saturday, 1/10

Hello,

The Ben2 system will be largely unavailable Saturday, January 10th, beginning at approximately 7:30 am, while the system undergoes a major hardware reconfiguration. The duration of the outage is unknown but is expected to last a minimum of 8 to 12 hours and may extend through to Sunday, January 11th, should problems be encountered.

These services include:

• ben2.ucla.edu
• pop.ben2.ucla.edu
• smtp.ben2.ucla.edu

Access to email through Eudora and other POP3 clients will not be available. Access to the Ben2 server will not be available. This includes access to Orion, Traveler's E-mail (Pine), Mail Forwarding, Vacation Notification, and all other Ben2 services. The Bruin OnLine Web Service (www.ben2.ucla.edu) will continue to be available throughout this period.
