05/07/97: New UCLA Authentication Program for Powell and OAC Commons Ethernet Ports
OAC is looking for laptop owners to beta test our newest version of the authentication client, which will be used to log in to the network in the Powell Library, CLICC, and OAC Commons.
To be a beta tester you will need:
A portable/laptop PC running Windows 95/NT 4.0 or a PowerBook PowerPC running Open Transport 1.1 or higher.
An Ethernet adapter that supports 10baseT connections.
Bruin OnLine or equivalent Internet software.
We have upgraded the network protocol, so the network authentication client has been changed accordingly. If you have version 1.0 of the authentication client, we recommend that you upgrade as well. The older version will continue to work, but could give erroneous error messages.
The authentication software can be obtained on the Web or at the OAC Technical Support Center in 4302 Math Sciences.
If you are interested in beta testing this software, please send an email message ASAP with your system configuration to consult@ucla.edu to obtain instructions on downloading the authentication software.
