8/12/2009: Beware of Fake Account Verification Message
UCLA's abuse team has received reports of an email that asks for usernames and passwords. If you have received it, please IGNORE and immediately DELETE it, as it is an account phishing attempt. The body of the messages may be similar to the following:

This is notify all Bruin Online Webmail email account users that we intend upgrading our Digital WebmailSecurity Server for better online services.In order to ensure you do not experience service interruption.
NB: We request your current username and Current password for identification purposes only

Once again, this email does NOT originate from Bruin OnLine or any other campus agency. Viruses and phishing attempts such as this are usually easy to spot by the fact that they request your account information (username and password), birth date, and/or University ID Number (UID). Please be aware that Bruin OnLine staff will never request your password at any time.
If you have replied to any email with your account information, please visit https://logon.ucla.edu/passchange.php to immediately change your password.
