8/7/2008: UCLA Logon Holders Targeted

Bruin OnLine email account holders continue to be targeted by phishing emails, or messages asking for private account and personal information.

Please remember, Bruin OnLine (BOL) staff will NEVER ask you for your password via email, phone, or in person. Don't be tricked into providing this information to anybody posing as Bruin OnLine or any other UCLA Help Desk entity. If you get a message asking for this information, please immediately delete it.

Also, be careful if a message you receive includes a link to a website because this can also be used to compromise your machine. If you are familiar with the website, we suggest that you instead cut and paste the link into your web browser's address bar.
