12/23/2005: BOL Mail Service Upgrade UPDATE

As part of Bruin OnLine's continuing service enhancements, the email storage quota for Bruin OnLine users will be increased to 75 megabytes (MB), effective January 3, 2006. The largest message size limit will remain 10 MB.

In order to facilitate this enhancement, we must take the Bruin OnLine mail servers off line one at a time for upgrading over the next few weeks. Each user will experience an all day outage during ONE of the following periods:

  • 6:00am Saturday, December 17 through 5:59am Sunday, December 18
  • 6:00am Tuesday, December 27 through 5:59am Wednesday, December 28
  • 6:00am Monday, January 2 through 5:59am Tuesday, January 3

Users will be notified via email of when their particular outage will take place. During this time, all mail services (webmail, POP, IMAP) will be unavailable for users whose accounts reside on these servers. If you attempt to login to mail during your outage, you will receive an error message. No incoming user mail will be lost, as messages will queue up until the servers come back online.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have any questions or experience any difficulty outside the maintenance period, please contact the BOL Help Desk at (310) 267-4357, option 1. You may also email us at consult@ucla.edu or use our web form, which is available at http://www.bol.ucla.edu/help/emailform.html.
