07/15/2005: Sophos Support for Mac OS 8/9 (Classic) To End on 12/31/05

Support for Sophos running on Macintosh OS 8/9 (commonly referred to as Classic) will officially end on December 31, 2005. Sophos will be retiring the application on that date. Virus definition files, updates to the virus detection engine, and application support will no longer be made available by Sophos. Due to these changes, Bruin OnLine will also end support for Sophos on all Mac Classic systems.

Sophos on Mac OS 10.2 and newer will continue to be offered by Bruin OnLine, as Sophos has no plans to retire that version of the application. Bruin OnLine will continue to provide support to the UCLA community for Sophos on Mac OS 10.2 and newer.
