05/27/05: Sophos Remote Update Delays

Sophos Remote Update clients attempting to update against the Bruin OnLine Sophos update servers may be experiencing delays. The delays are the result of a large update to not only the virus definition files, but an update to the application itself. Please continue to attempt to update every so often and as more and more clients receive the update, the delays and connection problems should subside.

We are currently in the process of building a new installer which we expect to alleviate these end-of-month connection problems and delays. In addition, the new installer will allow Bruin OnLine to distribute the most recent Sophos Anti-Virus client. An announcement will be made when the new client is available.
