12/22/03: Pine interface to be decommissioned on 12/31/03
Effective December 31, 2003, the BOL-provided Pine telnet interface at bol.ucla.edu will be decommissioned. Users who wish to continue to use Pine will be able to do so by installing Pine on their own computer and configuring it to access BOL email via IMAP. By installing Pine locally, users can avoid the insecurity of telnet cleartext protocol by using SSL/TLS for encryption.
