11/06/03: Bruin OnLine mailing list upgrade UPDATE
The Listserv mailing list upgrade on Wednesday, November 5 was not completed within the scheduled outage time and will require three additional Listserv system outages to complete the migration.
Owners of Listserv lists that have yet to be migrated will be sent email updates with exact dates and times of these planned outages. Once your list has been migrated, you will be sent a notification that will include the password required to administer the list.

In response to user requests, effective Wednesday, October 29 , CTS is upgrading its mailing list program from Lsoft Listserv 1.8d software to Mailman 2.1.2 web-based mailing list software.
Mailman is a robust, open-source software program that provides the same features as those available in Listserv via an intuitive, web-based interface. Mailman allows list owners to manage their mailing lists through a simple, web-based interface, and to maintain web-based archives for their lists.
The mailing list service will be provided on a CTS-managed server, with a warm-spare backup that will be synchronized to the production server every night to ensure minimal data loss if there is a hardware failure. After business hours on Wednesday, October 29, CTS will migrate all existing mailing lists to the new platform. Mailing list owners will then be able to reconfigure their lists and set options as they choose. Instructions for using Mailman can be found at:
