09/18/2003: Announcing BOL Virus Identification Service

Effective September 25, 2003, Sophos AntiVirus Interface (SAVI) will be implemented to evaluate all Bruin OnLine email for known viruses.

Virus management software utilizing Sophos AntiVirus Interface (SAVI) software will evaluate email destined for BOL addresses and sent from BOL addresses using mail.ucla.edu. If an email containing indications of known viruses is sent to you, you will receive a notification message from vscan@ucla.edu informing you of the infected message. You will be directed to a website in order to view a copy of the original message and detect the presence of any attachments. Infected messages will be retained on a quarantine server for seven (7) days.
