09/18/2002: VPN Server Outage 09/19/02

On Thursday, September 18th, 2002, the pilot VPN server vpn.ucla.edu will be down for maintenance to install a new root certificate, between the hours of 4PM-7PM.

After 7PM on 09/18/02, you will need to visit the Wireless Pilot page at http://www.bol.ucla.edu/wireless/ in order to download a new root certificate. You will also need to follow the instructions on how to update the root certificate in the VPN client that you are using.

A root certificate allows you to communicate securely with the VPN server, by verifying the identity of the VPN server you are connecting to.
