06/12/2002: UPGRADE TO BOL E-MAIL SERVERS
On Wednesday, June 12, 2002, we will begin moving Bruin OnLine (BOL) e-mail accounts to higher capacity servers, increasing the size of each user mailbox and the maximum message/attachment size. This change is part of an ongoing upgrade to BOL's e-mail system.
Once this move is complete, all users will have an increased mailbox sizeof 15MB (previously 5MB) and a higher maximum message/attachment size of10MB (previously 4MB).
**IF YOUR E-MAIL PROGRAM LEAVES MESSAGES ON YOUR COMPUTER You should notice no difference in your mail if you use Eudora, Outlook Express, Netscape Messenger.
**IF YOUR E-MAIL PROGRAM LEAVES MESSAGES ON THE BOL SERVER You may experience some duplicate mail in your e-mail inbox. This will only happen once and should be the only noticeable result of the e-mail server upgrade.
We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. You will receive a message indicating that your account has been transferred to the new server and that you may begin to use the upgraded features.
If you have any questions about the e-mail server upgrade, please call the BOL Help Desk at (310) 825-7452, option 1 or send an e-mail to consult@ucla.edu.
Sincerely,
Bruin OnLine Team
