12/15/2000: BOL Help Desk Consultants Wanted

The Bruin OnLine Help Desk is now hiring. We're looking to fill at least 3 Help Desk Consultant positions by Early February. BOL Help Desk Consultants provide support for Internet software used to access campus backbone network as well as Macintosh and Windows software used in conjunction with Bruin OnLine. The areas of support covered include the use of web browsers, email clients, modems, and general network troubleshooting for workstations directly connected to the campus backbone via LAN or dial-up. The primary responsibility of the Help Desk is the Bruin OnLine Consulting Hotline.

Applicants should be computer literate, self-motivated students with good social skills. Excellent command of the English language is mandatory. Previous experience with UNIX and Bruin OnLine is highly desired. Knowledge of standard Internet protocols (POP3, SMTP, NNTP, HTTP, PPP, FTP, Telnet) is required.
