10/24/2000: BOLGold Users- SMTP Service Restricted to mail.earthlink.net
Users who dial up to EarthLink via BOL Gold (or BOL Gold DSL users) will need to configure their mail client to point to EarthLink's SMTP mail server-mail.earthlink.net- in order to send outgoing email messages within EarthLink's network.
In an effort to reduce spam occurrences, EarthLink has blocked port 25 on all TCP/IP connections to allow only their own outgoing mail server- mail.earthlink.net - in processing all EarthLink users' outgoing mails.
If you are an active BOLGold Dial-Up or DSL user and if you have questions on how to do this, please contact the Bruin OnLine Help Desk at (310)825-7452 option 1 during our business hours.
Alternatively, you can send your questions to consult@ucla.edu.
