Staff Dr. Deborah Glik, ScD, Director of the UCLA Health and Media Research Group, Professor, School of Public Health, University of California at Los Angeles. Dr. Glik has over 20 years of experience in conducting research on health behavior change, health communications, formative research, and program evaluation in a variety of settings. Amy Myerson, MA is a Project Coordinator for the UCLA Health and Media Research Group. Ms. Myerson received her Master of Arts degree in Social Psychology from the Ohio State University. Her expertise lies in research, assessment, and program evaluation in the areas of psychology, education, and public health. Cathy Lang, MPH is the Web Site Developer for the UCLA Health and Media Research Group. Ms. Lang has an extensive background in computer programming and is interested in using technology to promote and create health education materials. She consults on technological/computer-related projects and trains people to use computer software programs to create health education materials. Mehrnaz Davoudi, MPH is a Project Coordinator for the UCLA Health and Media Research Group and Co-Creator/Co-Director of the media literacy curriculum, Project E.M.P.A.C.T. Ms. Davoudi is well-versed in program development, program evaluation, and health education/promotion within a multi-cultural context. Her main skills lie in media literacy, sexually transmitted infections, the role of race and gender on health, normative education, and community organization and empowerment as a component of healthy living. Rachel Gonzales, MPH is a Consultant and Co-Creator/Co-Director of the media literacy curriculum, Project E.M.P.A.C.T. Ms. Gonzales has extensive experience in health education and promotion within a multicultural context, program development, implementation and evaluation in international and local settings, and media literacy and normative education. Sally F. Shaw, DrPH is a Project Coordinator for the UCLA Health and Media Research Group. Dr. Shaw received her Doctor of Public Health degree in Preventive Care from Loma Linda University. Her professional interests include wellness and disease prevention, particularly asthma and diabetes, health education curriculum development, and program development and evaluation.
Affiliated Faculty/Staff Dr. Mike Prelip, MPH, DPA, CHES, Adjunct Assistant Professor and Field Program Supervisor, School of Public Health, University of California at Los Angeles. Dr. Prelip has worked in the Los Angeles community for more than 20 years. He has directed many community-based projects in the area of HIV prevention, adolescent pregnancy prevention, and substance use prevention. Through this work, he has developed and evaluated dozens of projects and has a clear understanding of the dynamics of program development within an organizational context. He has been responsible for the creation and maintenance of many community coalitions and collaborations.
